Pic of the Day - "Film Revisited"

I've been using MF film for personal stuff for sometime and have just gotten round to scanning some negs in. Its easy in this digital age to forget the virtures of film and how good it is......high rez scans of well exposed MF film still leave digital trailing....

The Local Overnight Cell

Beneath the cross on the monument above and entered by a door in the rear is a holding cell for the local scoundrels of their day in Winsford. Built in 1830 prisoners were held overnight untill the morning where the local magistrates dealt out swift justice at courts held in the George and Dragon public house. Picture below...given the severity of punishments of the day I wonder how many had a final ale in the old pub....

Pic of the Day - "Sundown"

Had to work this weekend on a couple of assignments but fitted in a stroll with the 40d late this afternoon

Pic of the Day - "Days End"

I took this at the end of the day whilst testing the little 18-35mm nikkor on the 14n. First results are very favorable and its nice to have a wide angle lens on a FF sensor to get the benefit of the FOV.

Playing with Chinese Lanterns

Its amazing the colour and form one can find in nature....this a crop from a shot of the seed pod known here as a "Chinese Lantern". Shot at ISO 6 with the 14n which provides very detailed noise free images at that setting.
